Chuck D, Jack Black, and one legendary Walk This Way

Jack Black, DMC, Tom Morello, Cypress Hill, Chuck D, and Scott Ian played Walk This Way at Power to the People on Saturday. I sat down with Chuck back in the day, and this is exactly the kind of chaos he lives for.

Picture this lineup. Jack Black, DMC, Tom Morello, Cypress Hill, Chuck D, and Anthrax's Scott Ian. On one stage. Playing Walk This Way.

That happened Saturday night at Merriweather Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, where Morello's Power to the People festival went off. DMC handled the rap verses, Jack Black sang the big chorus with a scarf on the mic stand as a nod to Steven Tyler, and the crowd went nuts. The video is everywhere. Watch it when you are done here.

Chuck got plenty of mic time. He joined B:

Real for a Prophets of Rage cover, a fun wink at the actual supergroup the three of them were in a few years back. That night they gave the crowd one more: Flavor Flav came out and the whole crew closed with Fight The Power.

Full disclosure:

I sat down with Chuck D back in the day, and he is exactly who you think he is. All business about the music, funny off the clock, zero ego. Seeing him tear through Walk This Way with Jack Black is why rock and rap got together in the first place.
