Pop-punk has a new problem and it's called The Paradox

Atlanta's The Paradox dropped their new EP Proceed With Caution on Friday, fresh off a publishing deal with EMPIRE and a sold-out headline tour. Pop-punk is alive and it has new teeth.

Atlanta has a new pop:

punk problem and their name is The Paradox.

Back in January, these four became the first all-Black band to ever top Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart with Get the Message, which nods to Blink-182 in the opening line. On Friday they dropped their sophomore EP, Proceed With Caution. Six songs, no filler, all hooks.

The resume is stacking up. They signed a publishing deal with EMPIRE and Wave Theory last week, played an NPR Tiny Desk this summer, and count Travis Barker and LeBron James as fans. Now a sold-out headline tour kicks off October 14 in Dallas, with stops in Austin, Phoenix, San Diego, and Los Angeles.

Here is what I love about this. Pop:

punk got sold back to the kids as a costume a few years ago. Bands like this are making it a living thing again. Old energy, new teeth. Go listen to I Kinda Like That and tell me I am wrong.
